Bernard Wulff

He is the dead of the percussion department of „Freiburg Musikhochschule“. He studied conducting, composition and percussion in Hamburg, Freiburg and Basel (Switzerland). As conductor, he was invited to concerts at the main centers in Europe, South America, former Sovjet Union, Mongolia and for concerts in USA and Japan. During the past 20 years, he was founder and artistic director of several ensembles of modern music: Ensemble Modern, Frankfurt; Arcana, Basel; Aventure, Freiburg; Sonda, Argentina and others. He is living in Freiburg, where he is professor at the famous University of Music and artistic director of the Percussion Ensemble, Freiburg which is one of the most important ensembles of its kind and have done concerts at festivals all around the world. As guest professor he has teached in many countries and at famous universities. He is a co-founder and a member of the board of the international public organization Association New Music (Odessa), the President of the festival Two Days and Two Nights of New Music (Odessa, the festival Roaring Hoofs (Ulan Bator, Mongolia, 1999-2002), Golden Silk Sound Road (Kirgisistan) and Cracking Bamboo (Vietnam). As a composer, Professor Wulff has composed music in different contemporary forms and his works now will be available for the first time in print. Of special interest is his scientific and editorial works with Viktor Ullman’s symphonic works, which he reconstructed and edited from 1989.
